Associates
Associate membership is for businesses that supply goods or services to the petroleum and/or service station industries; however, it excludes any company, subsidiary, or related firm of any company that sells petroleum products on a wholesale or retail basis, unless that company is also a CIOMA member in its proper category of marketer, retailer, etc. Associate membership includes any person or entity that has commercial interests in industry markets, waste oil, tank & equipment manufacturing, construction, tank lining, truck washing, scale operators, or c-store suppliers.
Broker membership applies to companies that manufacture or distribute transportation fuel products but are not defined as a marketer or refiner per CFCA’s definition.
Common Carriers
Common Carrier membership applies to owners/operators of transportation or delivery services for petroleum-related products.
Marketers and Marketers with Retail
Marketer/Retail membership applies to sellers of any fuels or petroleum-based products. This includes gasoline, diesel, propane, alternative fuels, and oil heat – generally, any wholesaler. Marketers based out-of-state are welcome to join our cause and only pay dues on product sold in California.
Refiners
Refiner membership applies to petroleum refineries/companies that change crude oil into petroleum products for use as fuels for transportation, heating, paving roads, and other uses.
Retailers
Retail membership applies to owners/operators of retail sites such as gas stations, c-stores, auto repair shops, tow yards, etc. However, these companies must be conducting only retail sales – those companies also selling fuel or petroleum-based products at wholesale must apply as marketers with retail locations.
Retired
Retired membership applies to all members who are retired from their careers.
